NZ property developers and NZ software engineers. Built together.
PropertyDevPro is not a software product built speculatively for a market. It is the result of a direct, ongoing collaboration between New Zealand residential property developers — people actively running projects — and a New Zealand software engineering team. Every feature exists because a developer asked for it, and every release goes back to those same developers before it ships.
Two groups. One shared frustration.
A group of Auckland-based residential developers had been managing their feasibilities in a single Excel workbook for years. It had grown into something no one fully understood — 14 tabs, 200+ named ranges, and a development contributions column last updated in 2019. When it finally corrupted mid-project, three days before a bank meeting, they decided enough was enough.
They reached out to a NZ software engineering team with a direct brief: build us the tool we actually need, not a global product retrofitted for Auckland. The software team embedded with the developers through an entire project cycle — sitting in on bank meetings, working through consent applications, understanding how costs were actually structured and tracked on site.
That collaboration produced the first version of PropertyDevPro in 2022. The same model has continued since — developer partners contribute real project experience, the software team turns it into reliable tooling. The result has been used across more than 400 NZ development projects, from 2-lot subdivisions in Christchurch to 20-unit townhouse blocks in South Auckland.

Auckland-based. Built through an active partnership between NZ property developers and NZ software engineers — not by a software company guessing at what the market needs.
What makes this partnership different
Two industries. One shared problem.
The property developers in our founding group kept hitting the same wall: tools that were either too generic to be useful in NZ, or too expensive to justify on a small project. The software developers in our team had seen the same problem from the other side — great engineering wasted on tools nobody actually used on site. That shared frustration is where PropertyDevPro started.
Built from real project experience
Every workflow in PropertyDevPro was designed alongside developers who were actively running NZ residential projects during the build. That means the cost structure reflects how NZ trades price their work, the consent timelines reflect actual Auckland Council processes, and the cash flow grid matches the way NZ construction finance actually draws down.
A living collaboration, not a one-time build
PropertyDevPro is not a product shipped by a software company to a passive market. Our property developer partners review every major release, propose features from their current projects, and test the platform against real site conditions. The software team makes sure those ideas become reliable, well-engineered tools — not just quick fixes.
Private developers deserve professional tools
The institutional end of the market has always had access to expensive bespoke software. The private developer running two or three projects a year has had to make do with spreadsheets. PropertyDevPro was built specifically to close that gap — professional-grade feasibility and cash flow tooling at a price that makes sense for independent operators.
How we got here
PropertyDevPro founded in Auckland — a joint initiative between a group of NZ residential developers and a NZ software engineering team. First working version: a cost workbench built directly from a developer's own project spreadsheet.
Regional library expanded with Wellington and Christchurch benchmarks, contributed by developer partners in both cities. Multi-scenario comparison launched after repeated requests from developers running parallel site options.
Cash flow workbench released with monthly scheduling grid and construction milestone anchors. MDRS planning rules context added following developer feedback on Auckland consent changes.
Portfolio dashboard and role-based team access launched. Pro Multi-Site plan introduced based on demand from developers managing multiple concurrent projects.
